Unmanned Air Vehicle Turbo Rotary Engine Preliminary Component Tests/2008
A 1.5 kW rotary vane engine is designed to power small unmanned air vehicles. This external combustion heat engine is operating according to a novel thermodynamic cycle having an efficient compression phase and a limited temperature combustion phase followed by a long power extraction phase. Preliminary compressor and turbine performance tests have been performed. The new engine promises high performance figures such as single stage high compression ratios, competitive power torque and low specific fuel consumptions.
